TARCO provides therapy and medication management for adults and children, ages 4 or older, with mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. These services are home and community-based designed to develop social, coping techniques that should result in effective daily living in your home, school, work environment, and community.

Community Psychiatric Support And Treatment (Individual skills building, Supportive counseling, Case coordination

The purpose of this service is to encourage personal responsibility and development of skills to help adults, children, and families take control of their life, rather than depending upon systems and agencies. TARCO uses a recovery-bases model that focus on helping the client attain personal goals and community resources.CPST serves as an extra support to outpatient counseling and medication management services.

Psychosocial Rehabilitative Service (Individual and Group daily living skills training)

The purpose of this face-to-face service is to assist the client in the restoration or strengthening of skills needed to promote and sustain independence and stability in their living, learning, social and work environments. TARCO work intensely with the identified client and his/her family using a psycho-educational approach along with behavior modification and insight-oriented counseling.

What Is A Substance Abuse Habit

Substance Abuse disorder occurs when a person’s use of alcohol or another substance (drug) leads to health issues or problems at work, school, or home. Many who develop a substance use problem have depression, attention deficit disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, or another mental problem. A stressful or chaotic lifestyle and low self-esteem are also common. 60 PERCENT of drug overdose deaths were tied to opiate painkillers, such as morphine, OxyContin, and Vicodin. 21.5 MILLION people over age 12 had a substance use disorder in 2014. 4 of 5 new heroin users started out misusing prescription painkillers. The first step to accessing care at Turnaround Community Outreach is to visit one of our centers for an assessment or get started with our online pre-assessment. Our certified clinicians will work with you to determine what your specific needs are, and then will provide a treatment plan best suited to those needs. We offer many programs at our facilities that might be available to you depending on your assessment.”

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment services includes a wide variety of services, programs and curriculums. Our centers offer both ASAM Level 1 and ASAM Level 2.1 programming. We provide services to both court ordered and voluntary clients. Some Centers also provide Treatment Provider (TP) services as part of the DUI Intervention Program. Co-occurring Programs are available for clients that may struggle with both Substance Use Disorders and Mental Illness. Evidence-Based Practices utilized may include: Seeking Safety, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), etc. Substance Use Disorder services and programming vary at each location. Please contact us if you are interested in finding out more about a specific program. Our Court Services Program provides evaluations to those who are recommended or required to complete units of counseling or therapy ordered by a Judge, probation officer, attorney, DFCS worker or other third party. Staff will complete mandated DUI, substance use and mental health evaluations utilizing standardized assessment tools in conjunction with a face-to-face interview. The findings of the assessment will be provided in a letter to the client and the referring source. Our evaluators are on the Georgia DUI Intervention Program Clinical Evaluator registry and are qualified to provide evaluations to meet the needs of the courts. Clients who receive these evaluations may or may not be referred to attend treatment groups, classes or services, depending on their individual need. The Court Services program does NOT provide psychological evaluations, psychosexual evaluations, or parental fitness assessments.

PSR Services

PSR Services

PSR Services or Psychosocial Rehabilitative Interventions include services such as behavioral management and counseling, conflict and anger management, interpersonal skills, collateral interventions with schools and social service systems, parent and family training and counseling, community transition and integration, and self-management. In most cases this service is offered in a 1:1, home or community setting. The number of service hours rendered weekly varies according to need.

PSR recipients may:
Learn the dynamics between actions and consequences
Learn interpersonal –social boundaries and gain confidence in their interpersonal-social skills
Learn problem identification and resolution
Learn effective communication skills
Learn culturally relevant moral guidelines and judgment
Learn healthy strategies
Learn self-trust, self-confidence, and/or self-reliance
Learn how to set and achieve observable specific, measurable achievable, realistic and time limited life goals

Admission Criteria: At least one parent or a legal guardian (in the case of legal minors) with whom the recipient is living must be willing to participate in home and community base services. The recipient must have substantial deficiencies in any combination of the following criteria:

Our Team

Here at Turnaround Community Outreach, we have a certified group of clinical experts who has confidence in making an environment for change and development. Together, we have a combination of clinical social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists, many of whom are known and published in their areas of expertise. Our certified experts have experience working with different difficulties, for example, those people who suffer with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorders, Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety Disorders. We likewise spend significant time in working with distressed families, parents in need of parenting skills training, families influenced by addictions, and survivors of sexual abuse.

About Daverin


Daverin is Co-CEO of Turnaround Community Outreach, His educational background consists of attending the University of Mississippi, earning a degree in Mathematics with a minor in History. Daverin, would go on to earn a master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering from Southern University A & M College.

Being able to help others has always been a dream of his and when the opportunity arose to lead an esteemed organization such as, Turnaround Community Outreach, he knew deep down inside that this pairing would prove to be challenging, fulfilling, and honorable. Throughout his educational and professional endeavors, and as a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, he has participated in supporting, enriching, and fulfilling the lives of others who face life challenges. He is most proud of being a instrument to help people reach their fullest potential. He volunteers his time as a youth football coach as well as a business mentor or coach to others. His focus as a leader at Turnaround Community Outreach is to assist in improving people’s quality of life by way of raising mental health awareness and providing support and services. As founder and leader for Geralds Capital he aims to expand in helping people obtain their desired quality of life by way of financial education.

About Tekia

Tekia Geralds is an LPC and graduate of Southern University A&M College. She finished from there with her bachelor’s and master’s in mental health counseling.

Tekia spent years working in the field as an Licensed professional counselor along with serving as the counselor on duty in a former private practice called Healing Hearts Counseling. Now, Tekia serves as our Co-CEO and has been an amazing, innovative thought leader in the behavioral health sector. Tekia is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc and is very active in community service efforts. She has been vital to the rebranding of Turnaround Community Outreach and helped the organization adopt its new vision and mission to deliver world-class healthcare to every person, every time and enhancing the mental health and well-being of every person we serve.
